Heritage Hunters from YMT
York Museums Trust have a community engagement project called Heritage Hunters. Working with local people, then produce really engaging booklets which are rich in stories of the history and heritage of a different district of York. Alford Gardner: WW2, Windrush & Yorkshire
Alford Gardner’s story is rich material for the history classroom. His story connects Yorkshire to the Windrush story, from 1948 to present day.
